BRADENTON -- A domestic battery suspect shot at officers early Thursday while drunk, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Police were called to the 2200 block of 21st Street West for a domestic battery call at 2:26 a.m., according to a report.

As officers were approaching the residence, Freddie Sandoval, 27, exited the home and started shooting, police said. Sandoval had been told that law enforcement was called and therefore should have known officers were in the area.

No one was injured in the incident.

Sandoval was charged with serious assault on law enforcement, domestic battery, discharging a firearm on a residential property, improperly exhibiting a firearm and using a firearm under the influence of alcohol. He is being held in the Manatee County jail without bond.
