Palmetto woman charged with attacking neighbor over $20
PALMETTO -- A Palmetto woman was charged with battery and snatching a victim's purse during an argument about $20, according to the Palmetto Police Department.
Brittney Lammlein, 22, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Fifth Street West, Palmetto, police reported.
Officers went to the 500 block of Sixth Avenue West where the victim, who lives in the same apartment building as Lammlein, said Lammlein snatched her purse out of her hands during an argument over money the victim owed a third party. The purse contained her cell phone, which prevented the victim from calling police immediately.
The victim told police she is on probation for theft so she did not fight back and left to prevent escalating the confrontation, according to the report. The victim said she returned to the building in her roommate's van and Lammlein charged the vehicle, breaking an armrest and attacking the victim.
Lammlein was charged with robbery by sudden snatching and battery and was held in Manatee County jail without bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
