Bicyclist hit by vehicle in Bradenton crash dies

BRADENTON -- A Bradenton bicyclist hit by a vehicle at 8:31 a.m. Tuesday has died, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Leroy O. Anderson, 44, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:56 p.m. Thursday.

Police reported a vehicle struck Anderson in the 300 block of First Street West.

Anderson suffered severe injuries and was transported to Blake Medical Center in critical condition, according to the report.

The driver involved in the collision was uninjured, police said. According to Bradenton Police Capt. William Fowler, the driver has not been charged and is cooperating with police.

Bradenton Police Department Traffic Unit is investigation, according to a report.
