Bradenton police: Missing man located at hospital in stable condition

BRADENTON -- A disabled man reported missing and last seen on Oct. 31 was located at the Manatee Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

James Byrd Jr., 47, was last seen on Oct. 31 at The Springs Apartments, 702 51st St. E., Bradenton. Byrd was in a manual wheelchair and is required to take daily medication, according to police.

Byrd, who is from Tallahassee, was located at the Manatee Memorial Hospital Wednesday at 8 p.m. Byrd told officers he was not feeling well after he left the Bradenton home and decided to check himself into the hospital. He is in stable condition and his family has been notified.
