Manatee deputies look for suspect in attempted homicide in Palmetto
MANATEE -- Deputies are looking for a man who shot several times at a 43-year-old man Monday morning in Palmetto, according to the Maantee County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was in the 2300 block of East Second Avenue in Palmetto at 8:21 a.m. when the suspect, whose street name is "City" or "Citgo," took out a handgun and began to shoot at the victim, according to a release.
Bullets hit the victim's vehicle as he tried to drive away, and both the victim and the suspect fled in vehicles from the scene, deputies said.
The victim approached a deputy in a marked vehicle and reported the shooting. He was not injured.
The suspect was described as a tall, thin man in his 30s wearing a fishing hat and driving a dark blue four-door 2000s model sedan with dark tinted windows.
