Woman refuses advances is assaulted, robbed

MANATEE -- A 20-year-old woman reports she was knocked unconscious and robbed early Sunday morning after being propositioned by three men -- and refusing their advances -- in the 5200 block of 26th Street West, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

The victim told deputies that one of the men asked her if she wanted "to come back to his house and party and make some money," the report said. The victim declined and said she was waiting for a ride.

At that point, she was hit several times and knocked unconscious, the report said. She told investigators that when she awoke, her purse was gone.

Two of the suspects were described as 5-foot-11 black males. One was wearing a white shirt and black pants, and the other wore a black shirt and pants. The third man was described as between 5-7 and 5-10 with a black shirt and pants.

The case remains under investigation.
