Bradenton man charged with hitting two children with broomstick causing softball size-bruises


BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man is charged with hitting two children with a broom stick, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Angel Carino, 39, was arrested at 5 a.m. Friday, according to a report. The location of his arrest was redacted from a report.

At 1 p.m. Oct. 24, police said Carmino hit two victims with a broom stick multiple times in the arms and legs, causing multiple injuries, after the victims broke a glass pane on the door to their residence. Carino sent the victims to their rooms and came in carrying a broom stick and began hitting them, according to the report.

The victims reportedly suffered multiple bruises the size of softballs and were taken into the custody of Child Protective Services, according to the report.

Carino was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and released from Manatee County the same day on bonds totaling $20,000.
