Sarasota sheriff: Suspect snatches wallet from disabled man
SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is investigating a robbery by sudden snatching at 3 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Tuttle Avenue and Sunnyside Street.
The wallet of a 57-year-old disabled man was taken after he obtained cash from the ATM at A&B Discount Beverages, 3101 Tuttle Ave.
The victim began walking back to his residence when a male suspect took his wallet out of the front pocket of his shorts and ran. The victim was unable to defend himself, according to the report.
The suspect was described 4-foot-11 to 5-2 with a thin build, black curly hair and wearing white shirt, black pants and sunglasses.
A store clerk told deputies the suspect was accompanied by a female, who was not described. The clerk believed the two subjects may have been in a vehicle, according to a report.
