Manatee sheriff: 1 man arrested for Florida Power and Light burglary, other on the loose

MANATEE -- Deputies arrested one man and are looking for one other who were caught trying to steal from a Florida Power and Light lot early Friday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Willie Morgan and an accomplice cut a hole in an FPL lot in the 1800 block of Whitfield Avenue and started moving rolls of wire towards it at 3:30 a.m., according to a release.

The alarm company saw them on video and called law enforcement. As deputies approached, Morgan and the other man ran away.

Morgan was apprehended by a canine deputy, but the other suspect was not located, deputies said.
