String of vehicle burglaries, car stolen in Palmetto, Ellenton communities

MANATEE -- Burglars ransacked several cars and stole one overnight in the Sugar Mill Lakes subdivision in Palmetto and the South Oak community in Ellenton, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the burglars went into the unlocked vehicles in the 3400 block of 14th Court East, 3300 block of 13th Street East, 3500 block 14th East in Ellenton and the 4600 block of 35th Avenue East and 4400 block of 35th Avenue East in Palmetto, according to a news release. The vehicles were ransacked and medications, a loaded pistol, a wallet and money were stolen.

In the 3400 block of 13th Street East an unlocked black Acura TL was stolen from the residence, according to the report.
