Bradenton man charged with marijuana possession after detour around speed bump
PALMETTO -- A Bradenton man was arrested at 2:41 p.m. Monday and charged with possession of 274 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and plastic bags, according to the Palmetto Police Department.
Clayton D. Mann Jr., 21, was in the 1700 block of First Avenue East, according to the report when a patrol officer stopped a white Nissan after it drove off the road around a speed bump.
The officer reportedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed a bulge in Mann's pocket when he exited the vehicle. Mann removed a lighter and a plastic bag containing marijuana from his pocket.
A vehicle search revealed a plastic shopping bag filled with 10 individually wrapped bags of marijuana, digital scale, box of plastic sandwich bags and $572, according to the report.
Mann was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
Mann was released Tuesday from Manatee County jail on $1,500 bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
