5 vehicles ransacked in Palmetto in burglary spree

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is looking for whoever broke into five vehicles and stole from some of them either late Thursday or early Friday.

The burglar entered five vehicles in the 7100 and 9800 blocks of 50th Avenue Circle and the 5200 block of East 72nd Street in Palmetto, according to a release. All the vehicles were unlocked and ransacked, and three had items stolen from them.

The thefts were sometime between Thursday at 8:30 p.m. and Friday at 6 a.m., deputies said.
