Fire at Bradenton elementary school causes about $50,000 damage to maintenance building
BRADENTON -- Three fire departments responded to a fire at a Bradenton elementary school early Wednesday that caused about $50,000 worth of damage, according to the Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue.
At 12:24 a.m. Wednesday, Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire at Orange Ridge Elementary School, 400 30th Ave. W., Bradenton, according to a news release.
First responders arrived within four minutes of receiving the call from the 911 center, and found a fire in the maintenance building on school grounds, the report stated. It took firefighters less than 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.
There were no injuries reported.
Two fire engines and one battalion chief responded from Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue, one engine from Southern Manatee Fire Rescue, a ladder truck from Bradenton Fire Rescue and one ambulance from Manatee County EMS responded.
An investigation by the Cedar Hammock fire marshal was completed and the cause of the fire was undetermined, but it did not appear to be suspicious.
Damage was estimated at $50,000.
