Deputies arrest suspect in Bradenton parking lot shooting

MANATEE -- A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night in connection to the shooting in the Labor Ready parking lot Friday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A 25-year-old woman was backing her vehicle out of the crowded Labor Ready parking lot at 7:49 a.m. Friday when an argument erupted into a shooting.

Gelasius K. Averette and another person were also leaving the parking lot at 1408 57th Ave. E. Bradenton and began to yell at the victim, then fired three rounds from a handgun at her Jeep.

The suspects fled before deputies arrived. No injuries were reported.
