Bradenton police hunt for suspect in slaying of ice cream man
BRADENTON -- Bradenton police are looking for a 30-year-old man they say gunned down a neighborhood ice cream man on Saturday.
Police have obtained an arrest warrant charging Juan Carlos Ramirez, 30, with second-degree murder, according to a news release issued Monday morning.
"Mr. Ramirez is considered to be armed and dangerous," police said.
Detectives say Ramirez shot Jose Luis Mendoza-Aguilar about 5:52 p.m. after an argument near the corner of 23rd Street East and Sixth Avenue Drive East. Mendoza-Aguilar died a little more than five hours later at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, police said.
