100 Manatee County beehives run over by tractor

MANATEE -- A Georgia man told Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies 100 beehives valued at $300 each were run over by a tractor.

The damage was discovered at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday in the 6400 block of Sim Barco Road.

Deputies were unable to get close enough to witness the evidence will all the bees in the area. The victim claimed he saw tractor tire tracks on the hives, according to the report.

The Department of Agriculture will investigate.
