Palmetto man charged with pushing restaurant manager against wall during dispute over bill

PALMETTO -- A Palmetto man was charged with pushing a restaurant manager during an argument about a bill, according to the Palmetto Police Department.

Eleytherios Argyriadis, 34, was arrested at 9:56 p.m. Sunday at Blu Mangrove Grill, 102 Riviera Dunes Way, Palmetto. Police said Argyriadis was at the restaurant drinking when the manager of the restaurant gave him the bill. Argyriadis began to argue that he had already paid his bill.

According to a report, the argument grew loud enough that the musician at the restaurant asked Argyriadis to leave. Argyriadis got even more upset and grabbed the manager by her left arm and pushed her against the wall. Police said multiple patrons then grabbed Argyriadis and escorted him off the restaurant property. The victim had visible scratch marks on her from where she said Argyriadis grabbed her.

According to a report, Argyriadis claimed he never touched anyone and said he was choked by people at the restaurant when he was removed from the property.

Argyriadis was charged with battery and released from Manatee County Jail Monday on $500 bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
