Man Tasered by Bradenton police after resisting arrest
BRADENTON -- A man was Tasered by police after resisting being arrested when he was found not to have a valid driver's license during a traffic stop, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
At 3:39 a.m. Friday, police attempted to stop a vehicle in the 2100 block of First Street West when they noticed it had illegal window tinting, according to a police report. The vehicle did not stop until it got to the 2100 block of Fourth Street East.
The driver did not have a valid driver's license, police said. When they tried to take arrest the driver, he resisted.
During the resistance, officers noticed the man was clutching something in his left hand and he refused to show officers what it was.
Police officers took the man to the ground while he continued to resist, and they drive stunned him with a taser until he listened to their commands, the report said.
The man was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital to be medically cleared before police could take him to jail.
The man was found in possession of narcotics, police said.
