Missing diabetic Bradenton man found unharmed

MANATEE -- A diabetic man who went missing without his medication was found unharmed, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Abdul Hamid, 86, was last seen Wednesday leaving his residence in the 5800 block of 17th Street West on foot so that he could go to a nearby convenience store and purchase some groceries.

At approximately 12:08 p.m. Wednesday, Hamid entered a 7-Eleven at 5640 14th St. W., Bradenton, and purchased all of his groceries. Deputies said Hamid then left the store, walking in a southerly direction towards 57th Avenue West.

The sheriff's office did not provide details on where Hamid was found.
