Bradenton man reported missing

MANATEE -- A Bradenton man who is diabetic and without medication is missing, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Abdul Hamid, 86, was last seen Wednesday leaving his residence in the 5800 block of 17th Street West on foot so that he could go to a nearby convenience store and purchase some groceries.

At approximately 12:08 p.m. Wednesday, Hamid entered a 7-Eleven at 5640 14th St. W., Bradenton, and purchased all of his groceries. Deputies said Hamid then left the store, walking in a southerly direction towards 57th Avenue West but his exact route of travel is unknown.

The sheriff's office said the man is diabetic and left without taking his medication.

Hamid was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, plaid shorts, and brown shoes, according to a release.
