Bicyclist, 44, dies in Bradenton crash

BRADENTON -- A bicyclist died after he was hit by a car early Wednesday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Timon J. Morales, 44, of Bradenton Beach, was riding a bike east in the 12000 block of Manatee Avenue West, on Perico Island, when he was struck by a vehicle at 3:45 a.m.

Morales was crossing Manatee Avenue West as a 2006 silver Hyundai Elantra was approaching, and the vehicle struck him, according to a release.

Morales was pronounced dead on scene and the driver was treated and released from Blake Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police said at this point they believe Morales was at fault in the accident.
