Manatee deputies Taser man making threats during 911 call investigation
MANATEE — A 22-year-old man has been charged with three counts of assault on law enforcement officers and one count of obstruction.
Joshua Douglas threatened three Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies with physical harm while they were investigating a 911 call at 11 p.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The call was at 1116 60th Ave. Drive E. in Manatee County, according to the release.
Douglas was told to stop numerous times as he approached patrol cars with closed fists and threats of physical harm before he was Tasered, according to the release.
Douglas was arrested and taken to the Manatee County jail. The release does not indicate the reason for the 911 call.
Douglas posted a $2,000 bond and was released Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office jail website.
