Manatee RV park hit by car thieves

MANATEE — Several vehicle burglaries were reported Tuesday at the Horseshoe Cove RV Resort, the sheriff’s office reports.

At about 8:30 a.m., a resident called the sheriff’s office from the resort at 5100 Caruso Road about a stolen golf cart. The cart was located later in the day at the Braden River High School baseball fields.

Deputies were dispatched to seven other locations within the resort for vehicle burglaries throughout the afternoon, the release said. In all incidents, the vehicles were unlocked and no forced entry was apparent, according to the release. Three GPS systems, an HP Laptop Computer and Canadian currency were taken during the burglaries. In addition, three fishing poles were removed from the rear of one of the RVs.
