Helicopter video shows deputies chase fleeing motorcycle in Manatee, sheriff’s office says
Newly released video shows a motorcyclist leading deputies on a chase into Manatee County, where helicopter footage captured him ditching his motorcycle and running into the woods.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the pursuit began after the rider fled a traffic stop. With help from the sheriff’s Aviation Unit, deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol tracked the motorcycle into Manatee County before the rider abandoned his bike and was arrested.
The sheriff’s office identified the rider as 33-year-old Dantonio Brown.
The video appears to show Brown fleeing deputies and maneuvering around a patrol vehicle before leaving the roadway and running into a wooded area. Audio from the helicopter captures deputies telling officers where Brown was and saying that he had thrown an object shortly before his arrest.
The sheriff’s office said Brown was charged with fleeing to elude at a high rate of speed, operating a motorcycle without a valid license, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, failure to register a motor vehicle and failure to have a license plate attached.
