Bradenton officer fired after burglary, domestic battery arrest, police say

A Bradenton police officer has been fired and faces criminal charges after being arrested on criminal charges, police say.

Quinlyn Parnau, 29, is charged with domestic battery and burglary of an occupied home, stemming from an “off-duty domestic violence incident,” according to the Bradenton Police Department. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office conducted the arrest early Wednesday morning, a news release said.

“The community places its trust in the officers of the Bradenton Police Department, and any violation of that trust cannot be tolerated,” said Bradenton Police Chief Josh Cramer. “We must hold our officers to a higher standard and have a zero-tolerance policy for any acts of domestic violence by those amongst our ranks.”

Parnau, who worked as a patrol officer, joined the agency in 2020. The sheriff’s office’s investigation is ongoing, the department said.
