Bradenton man arrested after killing 77-year-old in hit-and-run crash, police say

The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian Friday afternoon. A 40-year-old Bradenton man has been arrested after police say he struck and killed a 77-year-old woman before fleeing the scene Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 1:02 p.m. in the 5600 block of 11th Avenue West, the street where the pedestrian lived, according to the police department. Police say Jordan Beard veered off the road and struck Vicki Noon while she was in the yard in front of her home.

Police say they spotted the vehicle reported by eyewitnesses at a home nearby. Detectives arrested Beard, who is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

Bradenton police say the investigation is ongoing.
