Palmetto man caught with ammo after felony conviction, federal prosecutors say
U.S. prosecutors say a Palmetto man could face federal prison time after he was allegedly caught with ammunition after previous felony convictions.
Brandon Bernard Williams, 41, was on supervised release after prior federal convictions, including one for a crime involving a firearm, a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida said.
Federal law prevents people convicted of felonies from owning firearms or ammunition.
But in March, law enforcement allegedly found Williams in possession of ammunition, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
Williams was indicted in April. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in federal prison.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.
