DNA evidence links burglar to Saint Stephen’s break-in, Bradenton police say

Using DNA left at the scene, Bradenton police say they identified a suspect that broke into Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School in November.

Surveillance video captured Joshua Wilbar, 43, riding a bike on the school’s campus with a seemingly full white bag in hand on Sunday, Nov. 2, the Bradenton Police Department said in a social media post.

There was a break-in to the school’s concession stand and maintenance shed that day, investigators say.

“DNA found on items at the scene linked Wilbar to the crime,” Bradenton police said in the social media post.

Police charged Wilbar, who was already in jail on a different burglary charge, with burglary.
