A Bradenton man faces at least a decade in federal prison after a jury convicted him of distributing large amounts of methamphetamine, federal prosecutors said.

A federal jury in Fort Myers found 34-year-old Alejandro Marquetti-Blanco guilty of distributing 50 grams or more of meth, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison.

A sentencing date for the drug trafficking conviction has not been set, according to court records.

Federal prosecutors said trial evidence showed that Marquetti-Blanco distributed one pound of meth to a co-conspirator, who later sold the drugs to an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration special agent in Port Charlotte.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
