Manatee County corrections deputy resigns after DUI crash, sheriff says

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy resigned after being arrested Sunday night for driving under the influence, the agency said.

The sheriff’s office responded to the 2900 block of Fort Hamer Road in Parrish to reports of a single-vehicle crash around 11:07 p.m. At the scene, deputies say they arrested 30-year-old Luciano Centofanti for driving under the influence.

No injuries were reported in the crash, deputies say.

Centofanti, who had been a corrections deputy since January 2019, “resigned in lieu of termination,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Further information was not immediately available Monday morning.
