Two injured in Bradenton shooting, Manatee County deputies say

Two people were injured and a suspect is under arrest after a shooting in Bradenton early Sunday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The suspect, 26-year-old Exzavion Richardson, faces two counts of attempted murder and other charges related to the shooting, the news release said.

Around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 3100 block of 11th Street Court East, the sheriff’s office said.

The Bradenton shooting injured two individuals, one man and one woman, the news release said. Deputies say they found a 32-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her face and a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Both individuals were transported to a local hospital. The woman is now in stable condition, and the man has since been released, according to the sheriff’s office.

The release says the shooter fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Deputies located Richardson in a vehicle several blocks away, and he was arrested during a traffic stop, according to the release.

The sheriff’s office said multiple witnesses claim to have seen Richardson shoot the individuals. Witnesses also told deputies that Richardson claimed to be at the residence because someone “owed him money,” the release said.

Richardson is a nine-time convicted felon, according to the sheriff’s office. In addition to attempted murder, deputies charged him with home invasion with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.
