A 60-year-old Bradenton man is in jail after police say they found drugs, guns and nearly $4,000 in cash at his home during a SWAT raid this week.

Officers arrested Brent Bernard Williams, a convicted drug dealer, on Wednesday after executing a search warrant at his home off 23rd Street East in Bradenton, police said.

The Bradenton Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team and SWAT served the warrant as part of an ongoing investigation that linked Williams to drug trafficking. Police said they found 213 grams of cocaine, 56 grams of marijuana, two guns and $3,800 in cash during the search.

Williams faces charges of cocaine trafficking, destroying or tampering with evidence, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a house of worship, according to the sheriff’s office website. Due to Williams’ criminal record, police said additional charges are likely.

Police said Williams has 12 prior felony convictions, including a 1999 case in which he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for selling cocaine. Court records show he also served prison or jail time in multiple earlier drug-related cases dating back to the 1980s.

Jail records show Williams remained in custody without bond as of Thursday afternoon.
