Bradenton woman accused of setting boyfriend’s car on fire, police say
Police say a Bradenton woman set her boyfriend’s car on fire and nearly burned down their apartment.
Bradenton police arrested 38-year-old Natasha Killebrew Monday night on charges of arson and violation of probation.
Around 8:20 p.m. Monday, firefighters and officers responded to a fire at 2019 Ninth St. W., where they found a Nissan Altima ablaze, police said.
The fire was starting to spread to a nearby apartment unit when officers arrived, according to a news release.
The Bradenton Police Department released video of the aftermath, which showed a red sedan with severe fire damage. The car appeared charred and discolored, and the interior seats were melted and warped.

Witnesses reported seeing Killebrew near the burning car, police said. She was still at the scene when officers arrived, according to the release.
Police say Killebrew initially denied setting the fire, but then told officers she threw a lit cigarette near the vehicle. Later, police say she told them she poured cooking oil on herself and the Altima and tried to set herself on fire. Officers said Killebrew had no burn marks on her body or clothing.
Killebrew told police she lived in the damaged apartment with her boyfriend, who owned the car, according to a news release.
Officers arrested Killebrew at the scene and booked her into the Manatee County Jail, where she remains in custody without bond on charges of first-degree arson and violation of misdemeanor probation related to a 2022 DUI case.
Court records show she was previously arrested in April in a domestic battery case but was released in mid-May. In that case, police say she hit her boyfriend in the head with her phone.
