Video shows shots fired in Riverwalk road rage crash, Bradenton police say

A dispute over a turn signal led to Monday afternoon’s crash and gunfire near the Bradenton Riverwalk, according to police.

On Tuesday, police announced that three people now face charges in connection with the incident at 101 Riverfront Blvd. near the Riverwalk’s volleyball courts and skate park where officers responded around 3:23 p.m. following multiple 911 calls.

Bradenton police say the conflict began when Raesean Poole, 33, was waiting to turn left in his Jeep Compass out of the parking lot when 20-year-old Anthony Williams turned left into the lot in front of Poole without using a turn signal and parked his Buick sedan.

Poole backed up and confronted Williams about not using a signal, according to police. Williams and his 16-year-old passenger got out of the Buick, and Poole later told officers that Williams showed him a gun during the argument, according to a news release.

Surveillance footage released by police appears to show Poole begin to drive away several times but repeatedly stopping to continue arguing.

The video also shows Poole’s black Jeep Compass accelerate toward Williams as he walks away, police say. The Jeep strikes a stop sign and a tree before hitting Williams, who then limps away from the scene, police said.

A moment later, police say the video shows the 16-year-old step forward and fire a gun toward Poole’s vehicle, which speeds away. According to a release, Williams is then seen sitting down and lying in the grass.

Police say they detained all three shortly after the incident. Poole is charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and the 16-year-old is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, according to police. Charges are also pending against Williams, who police say was not seriously injured.

The Bradenton Herald does not name juvenile suspects.
