Bradenton man gets prison time for selling meth. It’s not his first conviction
A Bradenton man is set to spend more than a decade in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine.
A federal judge sentenced 42-year-old Jimmy Altidor to 15 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
The sentencing comes after Altidor pleaded guilty on Jan. 16, according to court records.
Because of a prior federal drug conviction, Altidor faced a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to life in prison under federal law, court records show.
Bradenton man sold meth outside of his workplace, prosecutors say
Federal prosecutors said Altidor spoke with a confidential source in March 2023 about the price of meth and offered to sell them a pound. A few days later, investigators said the source made several calls to coordinate a deal, and Altidor later sold them the meth during a meeting outside his workplace in Bradenton.
Federal court records show Altidor filed a notice of appeal following his sentencing by U.S. District Judge Mary Scriven. The appeal is ongoing.
Altidor previously served time for a federal conviction involving the sale of cocaine, according to court records.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the Bradenton Police Department and the Sarasota Police Department.
