Bradenton man gets prison after luring girl into sexual conversation on social media
A Bradenton man is set to spend more than a decade in federal prison after prosecutors say he used social media to engage in sexual conversations with a teenager.
A federal judge sentenced 42-year-old Buddy Allen Travis to 15 years and 8 months in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release for producing and receiving child sexual abuse material, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced.
Prosecutors say Travis solicited a 14-year-old to engage in sexual activity with him through Facebook, asking her to send sexually explicit images of herself to him, while also sending obscene images of himself to the girl.
Court records show Travis previously pleaded guilty in October.
