SWAT team arrests man charged with attempted murder after Bradenton bar shooting

The Bradenton Police Department announced 53-year-old Derrell Scott was arrested for allegedly shooting two people at a downtown Bradenton bar onFriday.

According to a news release, one of the victims argued with Scott at the Loaded Barrel, 450 Old Main Street, shortly before the shooting.

A second victim was a bystander and both are recovering from their injuries, police said.

BPD said Scott was arrested Monday in Osceola County with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Fort Myers, the DLE Orlando Fugitive Task Force, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Felony Squad and Osceola County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.

Scott is charged with second-degree attempted murder, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation is ongoing.
