Fatal Bradenton shooting leaves 18-year-old dead in Manatee County, deputies say

An 18-year-old man is dead after a fatal shooting in Bradenton Friday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 6:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office says it received a call about a shooting, but when they arrived, Reginald Fields had already been taken to the hospital. Fields died from his injuries around 7 p.m., according to a news release.

According to witnesses at the scene, Fields was sitting in a parked car with other people in the 3500 block of 5th Street East, Bradenton, when the handgun went off, deputies say.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.

Further information was not immediately available Saturday morning.
