A Bradenton bank was robbed Thursday morning and a suspect was arrested later that evening, police say.

Detectives say 23-year-old Jaquez Deon Barnes robbed Regions Bank at 5009 State Road 64 around 9:30 a.m. when he passed a note to a teller demanding money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Barnes was arrested Thursday evening and will be taken to the Manatee County Jail, the Bradenton Police Department said.

Several customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery, but police say no one was injured and the suspect did not threaten anyone with a weapon.

A spokesperson from Bradenton Police Department said they received assistance from a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and a Sarasota Sheriff’s Office helicopter Thursday in order to help track Barnes, who they said left the bank on foot.
