2 teens arrested after shooting at Bradenton man, police say. One was his stepson
Two teens are charged with firing guns at a Bradenton man outside of his home, the Bradenton Police Department said in a news release.
The oldest teen, 18-year-old Rodney Dunbar, is the man’s stepson, police said. Dunbar’s mother and his stepfather are in process of a divorce, police added.
The other teen is 15 years old.
Dunbar and the juvenile are both charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, police said.
Police got a call about a shooting in the 700 block of 10th Avenue West around 9:20 a.m. Monday, the news release said.
Dunbar’s stepfather told officers that he “exchanged words in passing” with Dunbar and the other teen outside of his home.
Dunbar’s stepfather told police that as the teens were walking away, they each fired one shot at him. He was not injured.
Detectives found the teens on 11th Avenue West around 11 a.m., and Dunbar’s stepfather identified them for police.
Nearby Rogers Garden Elementary School was briefly placed under lockdown while officers investigated the shooting.
No other details were provided.
