Bradenton man charged with capital sexual battery on a child

A 33-year-old Bradenton man is charged with three counts of capital sexual battery on a child after a deleted video was discovered on the child’s phone, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Gaudencio Betancourt-Camacho sexually abused the child multiple times. According to the arrest warrant, the child is unrelated to him. Based on the video, detectives believe the crimes occurred at his residence.

The age and gender of the child was redacted from the report.

Deputies began an investigation in early August after the video was turned over to law enforcement.

The investigation resulted in an arrest warrant being obtained on Aug. 27.

Betancourt-Camacho was arrested Tuesday.

He was booked into the Manatee County jail on three counts of capital sexual battery and one count of child molestation.

He remains in custody on bonds totaling $1 million.
