Fight over a borrowed car in Bradenton leads to man being charged with attempted murder

A 21-year-old Bradenton man is charged with attempted murder after he stabbed another man repeatedly when the victim tried to break up a fight between three women, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Antonio Guillen-Perez stabbed the victim Sunday night once in the arm and multiple times in the back, during a fight in the 500 block of 60th Avenue Terrace West, Bradenton.

According to the arrest report, the women’s fight started when one became that another of them had not returned her car to her after borrowing it.

Deputies say Guillen-Perez drove the car owner and another woman to where the vehicle was and the three women began to fight.

The victim came out of the home to break up the fight and Guillen-Perez began to rev his engine. The victim asked him to stop, at which point Guillen-Perez got out of the vehicle and pulled out a knife as the two began to fight.

“Antonio continued to physically attack (the victim) by stabbing (him) in the left side of his back near his chest,” the report states.

The victim, realizing he had been stabbed, retreated back inside the home and Guillen-Perez drove awa.

The victim was taken to to Blake Medical Center. His condition was unknown.

Deputies made contact with Guillen-Perez who gave conflicting statements. Deputies say blood was all over the trunk of his vehicle.

Guillen-Perez was booked into the Manatee County jail and charged with attempted murder. He remains in custody without bond.
