Cops investigate rash of robberies in Manatee. The suspect is targeting cell phone stores

The Palmetto Police Department and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a string of armed robberies at cell phone stores.

Detectives from both agencies believe the same suspect robbed two Cricket stores and a Metro PCS store over the past nine days in Bradenton and Palmetto. According to a release, the suspect posed as a customer before pulling out a handgun and demanding phones and money from store employees.

The suspect is described as a bald, 6’0 male with a medium build. Investigators believe the man is in his 40s. In each instance, the suspect fled in an unknown direction and made away with an unknown amount of money, according to a release.

Anyone with information to the robberies is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at (941) 747-3011 or the Palmetto Police Department at (941) 721-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-8477.
