Cops say this car was used in Bradenton gunfight that wounded innocent bystander

Manatee County deputies say they have recovered a vehicle that was used in a gun fight that left an innocent bystander shot in the head.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public for information on a white 2015 Chrysler 200. The vehicle was captured on surveillance cameras at 26th Avenue West at the time of the shooting on Thursday.

“Several leads are being followed and detectives continue to develop probable cause on possible suspects,” the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

The shooting occurred near First Street and 26th Avenue East about 1:42 p.m. Thursday.

A 50-year-old woman was parked in the area when she was hit in the head with a stray bullet from one of two gunmen shooting at each other from vehicles while traveling south on First Street.

The victim was transported to the hospital where she was listed as being in stable condition.

Deputies found several vehicles had been hit during the shootout, including vehicles at the Firkins preowned outlet at 2601 First St. E.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
