Bradenton man tried to molest a child, but the child fought back, cops say
A 36-year-old Bradenton man is in custody after he tried to pay a child under the age of 12 to take off their clothes, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Willie Burton tried to molest the victim. When the child refused and fought back, Burton ran away.
According to the arrest warrant, the child immediately told their parents, who called 911.
The arrest warrant was issued Aug. 7 and Burton was taken into custody the next day. He was booked into the Manatee County jail where he remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
According to jail records, Burton has an extensive arrest record and is a felony criminal registrant.
