$5,000 reward offered for tips as deputies investigate Bradenton shooting death

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a 35-year-old man in a Bradenton apartment complex.

According to a release, deputies responded to reports of shots fired around 11:20 p.m. Thursday night. When cops arrived at the scene of the shooting at The Venue at Lockwood Apartments in the 3100 block of 54th Drive East, the victim had already died from a gunshot wound.

A witness told the sheriff’s office that a shooter, who is described as 5 feet 7 inches with a thin build, left the area in a tan or silver car. The man was heading west through the complex, toward 53rd Avenue East, deputies said.

The investigation is ongoing as the sheriff’s office looks into several leads. The victim’s name has not been released to the public.

Anyone with information leading to an arrest can contact the sheriff’s office Homicide Tip Line at (941) 747-3011 ext. 2519 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 634-TIPS to become eligible for a reward of $5,000 provided by the Gold Star Club of Manatee County and the sheriff’s office.
