Bradenton man killed in shooting on I-75 in Tampa, FHP says

A 25-year-old Bradenton man was killed in a shooting on Interstate 75 in Tampa on Thursday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

He was found dead along with a 26-year-old man from Ruskin inside of a white Nissan sedan on a southbound exit ramp to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Witnesses told troopers that suspects in a white Jeep Cherokee fired the deadly shots at the sedan.

The deceased men were not identified. FHP began withholding the identities of people involved in traffic incidents earlier this year, citing victim privacy concerns in step with Marsy’s Law.

Troopers say that there were two other men in the Nissan who fled the scene after the shooting. The witnesses are identified as Craig Wilson Lee and Terrance McDowell, both 25-year-olds from Sarasota. They are wanted by troopers for questioning.

Lee, McDowell and anyone else who has information about the incident were asked to contact troopers at 813-558-1800 or *FHP in a press release. Tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 800-873-8477.
