Bradenton man charged with raping a child

A 37-year-old Bradenton man is facing multiple counts of sexually assaulting a child “too many times to count,” according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Kenny Livingston Roberts began sexually abusing the child when she was 10 and that he abused her numerous times over the next two years.

The child recently came forward to law enforcement, officials said.

Roberts has been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease that he passed onto the victim, deputies say.

According to the arrest report, which became available this week, Roberts met with deputies on June 18 and admitted to sexually assaulting the child at least 40 times.

Roberts was arrested after the interview and booked into the Manatee County jail.

Roberts is charged with five counts with sexual assault of a minor and remains in custody on bonds totaling $1 million.
