He tried to leave Bradenton bar without paying. That’s when the gun came out, cops say

A 23-year-old Bradenton man was charged with aggravated assault after he pulled a gun while trying to leave the Lost Kangaroo Pub without paying, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Police say Ezequiel Greo was drinking at the downtown Bradenton pub Friday night. When he tried to pay with a relative’s credit card, it was declined so he walked out of the business, according to the arrest report.

An employee pursued Greo out the door, as did another witness who overheard the conversation. The witness moved his own vehicle into the way of Greo, blocking him in, police say.

When the witness blocked Greo in, police say Greo pulled a gun, pointed it at the witness and began to walk toward the victim.

According to the report, the witness, in fear for his life, backed away so Greo could leave.

Police quickly tracked the credit card and the vehicle’s registration to Greo’s relative’s house and he was located there.

Since the residence was outside the city of Bradenton, the Mantee County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest.

Greo was on probation on a theft conviction so he was arrested on the violation, as well as the aggravated assault charge. He was booked into the Manatee County jail where he remains in custody without bond.
