Bradenton woman left young children alone in urine-drenched home for hours, cops say

A 28-year-old Bradenton woman was charged with felony child neglect after she left her two young children at home while she left town for dinner.

According to the Bradenton Police Department, Laneisha Dixon left for Clearwater to join a friend for dinner on May 19.

She left two children under the age of 9, alone and unsupervised, inside a house that was “dirty and had rotten food and a pile of dirty clothes all over the house,” police said.

According to the arrest report, the bedrooms and beds “smelled like urine.”

Police say the children were left unattended and without food and a means to take care of themselves for seven hours.

Dixon was arrested on May 20 and booked into the Manatee County jail on a felony child neglect charge.

She posted bond and was released the same day pending a future court date.
